April 2003

Look for MXPX, decked out in the finest Retail Slut fashions, on the cover of Alternative Press magazine.

The TV show "Extreme Dating" shot an episode of two hopeful lovers on a shopping date inside the Retail Slut store. Look for it  to air on the UPN Network soon.

The Sluts went to pay their respects at a memorial service held at Spike for Pervy Ev -- former Slut Slave killed in a car accident three weeks ago.

Be on the lookout for the upcoming issue of Blender Magazine with Jewel on the cover, she'll be sportin' some Retail Slut wear, baby!

March 2003
The Sluts were out on the town to attend the SWAG Magazine release party, the latest endeavor by our pals Amelia G. and Forrest Black. We hob-nobbed with notables such as Glenn Danzig, Taime Downe, members of Social Distortion, Murderdolls and Marilyn Manson -- and also watched our resident superstar Yolanda, shake her ass on stage.

HBO stopped by the store to shoot some scenes for a steamy new pilot with Tony from Static X, and adult film stars Master Damion and Tabitha Stevens

The Slut crew is still grieving over the death of former employee Everett "Pervy Ev" Thompson who was killed in a car crash March 15, 2003. Everett slaved at the Slut for many years and also worked independently doing promotion for numerous bands and record companies. He played bass for bands including Slanderin, Wreckage and Jeepers Creepers and also  wrote for Fetish, Taboo and Adult Video News magazines covering the fetish scene. He will be remembered fondly for his polite mannerisms, perverted tendencies, Salvador Dali mustache and knowledge of the music and fetish world.  RIP Pervy!

February 2003
Happy Valentine's Day! Won't you be our Slutty Valentine? This month Gen from the Genitorturers came by to toss back a few beers after wearing our clothes for a video shoot. Playboy TV came in to shoot segments for "Totally Busted."  Winona Ryder wandered in -- and we're happy to report, she didn't steal a thing! Korn's Jonathan Davis dropped in and the lovely Dale Bozzio of Missing Persons stopped by the Slut to be outfitted head to toe for her show at the House of Blues. Do you hear me? Do you care?

January 2003
Happy New Year! The Slut has been busy this month outfitting some of our favorite pop starlets. Look for our clothes on No Doubt's cheerleading squad at the SuperBowl. Christina Aguilera, TLC and Avril Lavigne's stylists took piles of our clothes over to various magazine shoots, and rock tart Pink came in the store incognito with blue hair.

November 2002
E! Entertainment's "Wild On" camera crew visited the Slut to outfit the ladies of CoolGrrrls.com  for a segment of "Wild On Hollywood." Look for the show to air Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at 10 pm.

June 2002
It is with deep sadness that we heard that Ramones founder, Dee Dee Ramone (born Douglas Glenn Colvin) passed away at his Hollywood home from a possible drug overdose. He was a writer, a musician and an artist. He was a friend to many, an inspiration to generations and his death is untimely.

It was just  last year that Joey Ramone passed at age 49 from lymphoma. Last April the Ramones finally got some cred when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Dee Dee performed at Club Makeup this month, which will now be remembered as his last public performance.

He is survived by his wife Barbara and many good friends.
